The Sailboat (NVe) “Cisne Branco” (U20), from the Brazilian Navy (MB), will dock at the Port of Maceió on March 15th, and will be open to free public visits on March 16th, from 12pm to 5pm and on March 17th, from 10am to 5pm. The Port of Maceió will be one of the stops of the “Europe 2024” commission.

Known as the “Brazilian Embassy at Sea”, the NVe “Cisne Branco” carries out diplomatic and public relations functions, with the mission of representing Brazil and MB in major national and international nautical events, promoting the maritime mentality in our society, presenting the naval culture and traditions, as well as contributing to the maritime training of MB personnel.

The sailing ship was built in the Netherlands by order of the Navy, and was intended to commemorate the 500 Years of the Discovery of Brazil, when it traveled the so-called “Route of Discovery”, which left Portugal towards Brazilian territory. The visit aims to offer society the opportunity to learn about the operational environment of the Navy that represents Brazil so well, also encouraging the importance of maritime mentality and the preservation of naval traditions.
