The Port of Maceió received the technical team from IPLAN (Institute of Research and Urban Planning of Maceió) and the Architecture and Design office Índio da Costa, responsible for the requalification project of the Urban stretch of Orla de Maceió, this Monday and Wednesday (29 and 31). The purpose of the visit was to visualize the Port area, understand the internal functioning and the flow of tourists disembarking at the Passenger Terminal.

According to Iplan, the requalification project involves architecture but also seeks to create a visual identity for the city in the stretch that starts at Praia da Pajuçara - in the area where the Port of Maceió is located - and goes to the end of Jacarecica.

Representing the Administration of the Port of Maceió, advisors Mônica Suruagy and Letícia Uchôa and the Technical Operational Manager, Luciano Modesto, were present. According to Mônica, contact began in December, at the beginning of the project. “IPLAN, through the Indio Costa office, sought out the Port of Maceió to understand how it works, listening to the main actors on this stretch of the Maceió Waterfront. During the visits, we pass on information about passenger disembarkation and the flow of tourists, so that they can understand and build this important project in an inclusive way and with positive impacts for the city”, he stated.
