Representatives of the Administration of the Port of Maceió (APMC) are participating in the second stage of the Orla Program Participatory Planning Workshop, which began this Monday (27th) and will take place until Friday (1st), in the Federation auditorium of Industries of the State of Alagoas (FIEA). The objective is for the main actors of the Orla de Maceió, such as entities, authorities, associations, street vendors and residents, to contribute to the preparation of the action plan that will make up the Integrated Management Plan (PGI) of the Orla de Maceió Program, coordinated by the Institute of Research and Urban Planning of Maceió (IPLAN).

The implementation of the PGI aims to promote responsible tourism, sustainable development of the municipality and the creation of adequate spaces for the well-being of residents. Based on the results of the first stage, which was the participatory diagnosis, members will address the effects, impacts, actions, duration and regularity of the action plan, among other topics.

The administrator of the Port of Maceió, Diogo Holanda, believes that the participation of the port authority in this discussion is very relevant. “It is important that the Port of Maceió is present in discussions about waterfront planning, actively contributing to the development of the integrated management plan. I believe that the Port is an important component in this planning, considering its economic and strategic importance for the municipality. We are available to cooperate with whatever is necessary”, stated Holanda.

The Port of Maceió makes up planning unit 01, which comprises the stretch from the Pontal neighborhood to the Jaraguá neighborhood. According to IPLAN, a space management plan will be established for each unit.
