In the 1st quarter, cargo movement at the Port of Maceió increased by almost 18%

The Port of Maceió Administration announced, this Friday (25), the increase in cargo movement in the first quarter of 2025, compared to the same period of the previous year. According to the data, the growth was 17.31% among solid bulk, liquid bulk and general cargo, totaling 921,242 tons in total. During the first quarter of 2024, 785,338 tons were moved.
Among the most moved products, it is possible to highlight the increase in the import of petroleum coke, fertilizers, sand and gasoline and the export of sugar, in bags and in bulk, resulting in an increase of 21.17% in solid bulk moved in 2025.
According to the administrator of the Port of Maceió, Diogo Holanda, APMC's logistics, combined with operational investments, contribute to the increase in cargo moved each quarter. “The Port of Maceió continues to play a leading role in the development of our state. With serious work, a favorable legal environment for investments, and a focus on logistics and operational investments, it is possible to see results every quarter, maintaining continuous growth that is very satisfactory for all of us who work at the Port of Maceió,” said the administrator.
